 Program Overview:


Strategic employers have recognized the urgent need to attend to growing employee expectations for vision, voice and values. Employees want a say in organizational decision-making, they want work aligned with their personal values, and they want a hassle-free experience that lets them get things done quickly. This session will help you assess your ability to withstand “The Great Resignation” and offer strategies for attracting and retaining top talent in a distributed/hybrid environment.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe evolving employee expectations
  • Understand the key HR policies with particular applicability in the hybrid workforce
  • Design strategies to make their organization more competitive in both attracting and retaining quality talent

About Our Speaker:

Catherine Lilly, Senior Consultant, National Higher Education Practice


Catherine Lilly is an accomplished facilitator, speaker, organization development consultant and human resource leader, with over twenty-five years’ experience in successfully solving people and organizational issues, primarily in Higher Education.  She has consulted to leaders at every level and in many types of institutions, having designed and facilitated hundreds of projects focused on assessment, strategy, leadership development, positive organization culture, talent management and team effectiveness.

Catherine also has deep expertise in whole-scale planning and change management, working from the assumption that change is always personal and direct engagement is the key to accomplishing institutional goals. She is passionate about strategic human resources and developing the next generation of leaders to effectively address the challenges facing our large institutions. Catherine also has deep expertise with implementing a body of work known as Liberating Structures, which equip leaders to more effectively promote innovative and inclusive practices in their day-to-day management of organizations.

Catherine brings to Segal many years of direct experience inside with large organizations, having served an executive team member and trusted advisor to four executive vice presidents in Higher Education institutions, as well as lead facilitator for an institution-wide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion five-year Strategic Planning Process at the University of Michigan.

Catherine lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan and describes herself as continuous learner. She enjoys travel, languages and cross-cultural experiences and is a doctoral candidate in higher education leadership.
